Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state initial examinations suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.
A senior political figure stated the vandalism made him without words and required to be addressed promptly.
"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
